Jaipur, 17 August. Chairman of the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board Shikhar Agrawal has said that government is determined to provide clean and pollution free environment along with ease of doing business in the state. In this direction the board has expanded white category industrial units from 102 to 104.
Agarwal informed that there are four categories of industrial units: white, green, orange and red. The industrial units such as blue pottery, cold storage, Incense sticks, handloom, gems and jewellery, floriculture and horticulture, poultry farm up to 5000 numbers, which do not cause pollution, come under white category. These units do not need to seek permission from the state pollution control board.
He says that the board issuing an order has added two more industrial units- sandstone diesel generator set up to 1MVA based on gaseous fuel and honey making with cleanser fuel units- in white category. These two newly added industries will not have to take permission from the state pollution control board. Thus, the white category is expanded from 102 to 104 industrial units under the umbrella of white category.
