State level award distribution ceremony on World Population Day — Population control should be encouraged by increasing awareness - Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that increasing population is a matter of concern for the country and the world. Due to increasing population, pressure on water, land and other resources is constantly increasing, because these resources are limited in nature. He said that various problems arise due to population growth. Family planning should be our priority, so that the future generation can use the resources in proper quantity.
Rajasthan's position better in maternal and child health indicators -
Sharma said that due to strong medical system and better family welfare services in the state, Rajasthan is in a better position than other states of the country in indicators related to maternal and child health. He said that to fulfill the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation by the year 2047, it is necessary to reduce the pressure of population on resources. The state government is moving rapidly towards fulfilling this resolution. This is such a resolution, which will take concrete shape only with the participation of everyone.
Sharma was addressing the state level award distribution ceremony organized by the Medical and Health Department on the occasion of World Population Day at Rajasthan International Center in Jaipur on Thursday. He said that the objective of World Population Day is to raise awareness of people on the importance of family planning, gender equality, poverty, maternal health and human rights. Due to increasing population, the balance of nature is constantly deteriorating, climate change is a part of this. Increasing population also affects economic development, employment, income distribution, poverty and social security. He said that it also has a wide impact on efforts to ensure universal access to health, education, housing, sanitation, water, food and energy.
Family planning will ensure stability in population growth -
The Chief Minister said that family planning is an effective step to ensure stability in population growth. Also, population control should be encouraged by increasing awareness in the society. He said that due to the efforts of the state government, the rate of population growth in the state is continuously decreasing. According to the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, the target of total fertility rate (TFR) is 2.1, while the total fertility rate of the state is 2.0. The Chief Minister said that the sensitivity and service of the personnel in the field of medicine is very important. For the patient, the doctor is the form of God. The success of medical campaign, vaccination is ensured only by the hard work of the personnel of this department. He said that providing better medical and health services to every village is our priority. Patients can store their health records digitally through Aabha ID in the state. Through this, complete information about the disease and treatment will be available to the patient and the doctor.
Big gifts given to the medical sector in the budget—
Sharma said that in the budget presented in the Assembly, the medical sector has been strengthened by giving various gifts. Medical facilities have been provided in sub-health centers, primary health centers, community health centers, sub-district hospitals and district hospitals. He said that the expansion of medical services in remote areas is the vision of the state government. Also, there will be no shortage of doctors and nursing staff to strengthen the medical department.
Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar said that Chief Minister Sharma has given priority and allocated 8.26 percent of the budget to the Medical and Health Department. Health facilities are being expanded in Jaipur's SMS Hospital. Ayushman Bharat Yojana is becoming a scheme for the people. He said that under the Maa Voucher Scheme, pregnant women are being provided free sonography test facilities. The benefit of this scheme is also being available at private sonography centers. He said that the IPD tower under construction in Jaipur will become the best hospital in the country.
Additional Chief Secretary of Medical and Health Department, Mrs. Shubhra Singh said that under the 100-day action plan in the state, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been strengthened. Under the family planning program, the participation of men as well as women is being increased in the state. He said that Population Stability Fortnight will be celebrated in the state till July 24.
Family Welfare Incentive Award distributed—
The Chief Minister distributed awards in various categories under the Family Welfare Incentive Award Scheme for excellent services in the field of family welfare. For excellent work in the state, Banswara was given awards and certificates for getting first place, Beawar second, Kekri third, Bhilwara fourth and Shahpura fifth. Similarly, Beawar was awarded first, Salumber second and Chittorgarh third in PPIUCD insertion. Along with this, awards were also given in private hospitals and colleges, NGOs, Government Medical Institutes and Colleges, Panchayat Samiti, Gram Panchayat and individual categories.
In the function, Chief Minister Sharma unveiled Ayushman Rajasthan e-magazine of Medical and Health Department and also released poster on World Population Day. Earlier, Chief Minister had inaugurated the Ayushman Rajasthan e-magazine of Medical and Health Department.
