New Delhi: Big drop in petrol and diesel prices possible, considering bringing it under the ambit of GST

New Delhi, June 24, 2024: There may be a big drop in the prices of petrol and diesel in the coming days. The government is considering bringing petrol and diesel under the purview of Goods and Services Tax (GST), which is expected to provide great relief to the general public.

According to government sources, if petrol and diesel are brought under GST, their price may come down by up to Rs 20 per liter. Currently, the price of petrol in Delhi is around Rs 95 per liter, while the price of diesel is Rs 85 per liter. After coming under the purview of GST, the price of petrol in Delhi may come down to Rs 75 per liter and the price of diesel may come down to Rs 65 per liter.
