Mutual coordination between center and state in mineral exploration work, Rajasthan tops in auction
Mines Secretary Anandi has said that mineral exploration work should be accelerated with mutual coordination and cooperation with the central and state institutions engaged in mineral exploration work in the state. He said that Rajasthan has become one of the leading states in the country in the auction of major and minor mineral plots. He asked to run as much exploration work as possible through NMET so that mineral exploration work in the state can be accelerated further. He informed that in the year 24-25, out of a total of 15 blocks of 7 limestones, 2 gold, 1 base metal, 1 silicosis and 4 iron ore of major minerals, 9 blocks have been auctioned for mining lease and 6 for composite license. Apart from this, the auction of four blocks of limestone will be completed by July 7.
Mines Secretary Anandi was chairing the 6th Joint Working Group meeting in Khanij Bhawan. JWG includes representatives of the Central Government's Ministry of Mines, Central Government undertaking Geological Survey of India, Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd., IBM, State Mineral and Geology Department, Forest and Environment Department and RSMET etc. Geological reports and geological memorandums are presented to the government by the central and state institutions on the basis of exploration and its reports and the results of the discovery of minerals in the state, on the basis of which mineral blocks are auctioned after completing the necessary formalities.
Anandi asked the departmental officials to examine the reports received from GSI and MECL and prepare for the auction of mineral plots. He said that the department is getting positive results by preparing a monthly calendar for the auction of mineral blocks.
Union Ministry of Mines Deputy Secretary Dheeraj Kumar and Director Technical Pradeep Singh expressed satisfaction over the auction of mineral blocks in the state and emphasized on accelerating it further.
Director Mines Bhagwati Prasad Kalal said that action is being taken by the department on the basis of the received GR and GM.
GSI Director Mr. Harish Mistry said that GSI has given 39 geological reports and 45 geological memoranda to the state government, while MECL has given 42 geological memoranda.
