Members of the state assembly took a pledge to minimize the use of plastic bags

On the occasion of International Plastic Bag Free Day in the State Assembly on Wednesday, the members pledged to minimize the use of plastic bags and also make the general public aware of the same. Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani made the members take this pledge.

While addressing the members, Devnani said that all should understand the seriousness of plastic pollution and be sensitive and work towards environmental protection. Use cloth or biodegradable bags in place of plastic bags. He appealed to all the members to minimize the use of plastic bags, to be sensitive towards its proper disposal and to make the people around them aware about the minimum use of plastic bags and the ill effects of plastic on the environment.
