Manoj Tiwary Announces Retirement from Cricket

India international Manoj Tiwary has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The 37-year-old, who represented India in 12 ODIs and 3 T20Is, made the announcement on Thursday via an Instagram post.
Tiwary, who is the current West Bengal Sports Minister, thanked his former teammates, loved ones, and coach Manabendra Ghosh for their support throughout his career. He also expressed his gratitude to the game of cricket, which he said "has given me everything."
The Bengal-born cricketer has played for Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab, and Rising Pune Supergiants in the Indian Premier League. He was a part of KKR's 2012 IPL-winning team.
Tiwary made his international debut in 2008 and played his last ODI in 2015. He was a regular in the Indian team for a brief period of time, but he was unable to cement his place in the side.
Despite not being able to achieve the heights he would have liked at the international level, Tiwary had a successful career in domestic cricket. He is the leading run-scorer for Bengal in Ranji Trophy history, with over 8,000 runs. He also led Bengal to the Ranji Trophy final in 2022-23.
Tiwary's retirement is a big loss for Indian cricket. He was a talented batsman who could score runs in all conditions. He was also a good fielder and a handy off-spinner.
Tiwary will be remembered as one of the most consistent performers in Indian domestic cricket. He was a role model for young cricketers and his retirement will be a big blow to the Bengal cricket team.
