Jodhpur: Trailer full of poppy husk caught in Balesar, 36 quintals of poppy husk seized

Jodhpur, June 23, 2024 - Balesar police station of Jodhpur Rural Police has taken a major action and caught a trailer full of poppy husk. 36 quintals of poppy husk has been seized from this trailer. In this action, the driver of the trailer has been arrested, while a group of smugglers escorting in a car fled.

Details of the case

In this action led by Thanadhikari Narpat Dan Ratanu of Balesar police station area, the police has seized a large consignment of poppy husk being brought from Jharkhand. This consignment was being brought for the smugglers of Barmer.

Activity of smugglers

The police had received information that a large consignment of poppy husk was being taken to Barmer in a trailer from Jharkhand. Based on this information, the police stopped the trailer and searched it, in which 36 quintals of poppy husk was found. The driver of the trailer was arrested on the spot, but the smugglers escorting in the car managed to escape.

Action of Thanadhikari

After this successful operation, Thanadhikari Narpat Dan Ratanu said, "We are committed to stop drug smuggling and such actions make it clear that the police is taking strict action against the smugglers. The search for the absconding smugglers is on and soon they will also be arrested."

Further action of the police

The police is now interrogating the arrested driver so that the entire network of smuggling can be revealed. Apart from this, special teams have also been formed to identify and arrest the absconding smugglers. The police is also raiding other possible hideouts in this case.
