IIM Kozhikode to set up ‘India-Japan Study and Research Centre’

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode is set to set up an India-Japan Study and Research Centre. The centre will aim to enhance management education and research competencies in the specific areas of mutual interest between India and Japan.
The centre will be a joint initiative of IIM Kozhikode and Keio University, Japan. Prof. Rajib Shaw, a professor at Keio University, has been appointed as the visiting professor for the centre.
The centre will focus on areas such as business, economics, technology, and culture. It will also promote student exchange programs between IIM Kozhikode and Keio University.
"This initiative will provide for transfer of knowledge and competencies in the areas of mutual interest thereby facilitating research collaborations and students exchange programs with various Japanese Institutes of higher learning," said Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode.
"This will also promote understanding of Japan in India and India in Japan through research, training and other management development programs," he added.
The centre is expected to be operational by the end of 2023.
