Henna actor Zeba Bakhtiar opens up on bitter divorce and custody battle with Adnan Sami
Pakistani actor Zeba Bakhtiar, who found popularity in the Hindi film industry after appearing with Rishi Kapoor in Henna, opened up on her tumultuous marriage with singer and music composer Adnan Sami in a recent interview. During the conversation, she also shared the emotional toll that the custody battle for their son, Azaan Sami, took on her.
Bakhtiar and Sami were married for three years and have a son together, Azaan. The couple divorced in 2004 and Bakhtiar was granted custody of Azaan.
In a recent interview with Aamna Haider Isani, Bakhtiar spoke about the challenges she faced during her divorce and custody battle. She said, "It was a very difficult time for me. I was going through a lot of emotional turmoil. I was also dealing with a lot of financial problems. But I was determined to get custody of my son."
Bakhtiar said that the custody battle lasted for 18 months. She said, "It was a very long and drawn-out process. I had to go through a lot of hearings and mediation sessions. But in the end, I was able to get custody of my son."
Bakhtiar said that the custody battle took a toll on her mental and physical health. She said, "I lost a lot of weight during that time. I was also having a lot of trouble sleeping. But I knew that I had to be strong for my son. I had to fight for him."
Bakhtiar said that she is grateful for the support she received from her family and friends during the difficult time. She said, "I could not have done it without their support. They were there for me every step of the way."
Bakhtiar said that she is now in a good place in her life. She said, "I am happy and content. I am focusing on my career and raising my son."
