Director Mines and Geology Bhagwati Prasad Kalal has given instructions to identify mineral areas on priority for delineation of minor mineral plots. For this, the work of delineation should be expedited by identifying the cancelled mines of the state, mines surrendered to the state government, mines whose lease period has expired and other mineral areas. While interacting with the officials of the Mines and Geology Department through VC on Wednesday and Thursday, Kalal said that priority should be given to the work of delineation in illegal mining affected areas and gap areas so that plots of such mineral areas can be prepared and auctioned.

Director Mines Kalal said that the state government is working under the policy of zero tolerance against illegal mining activities and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, who also holds the Mines Department, is serious about illegal mining activities. Chief Secretary Mr. Sudhansh Pant and Mines Secretary Mrs. Anandi are coordinating with the departmental officials as well as the District Collectors and taking action and monitoring the campaign. Kalal said that the Geology wing of the department has been given the target of plots of 1173 hectares area for auction of minor minerals every month and drilling of 970 meters every month for exploration of minerals. He instructed the officials of all 19 superintending geologist and senior geologist offices that plots should be prepared as per the auction target with mutual coordination between the mining wing and the geology wing.

Discussing e-filing, e-post, e-file execution in the meeting, the need to bring the disposal time to the minimum level was emphasized. Instructions were given to upload Form 2 in the Parivesh portal before 31 July.
