District Collector's inspection in Dechu: Strict action on irregularities of water supply department

Dechu, 23 June 2024 - District Collector Harji Lal Atal today inspected the hydrant point of the Water Supply Department in Dechu. During this inspection, many irregularities were found, due to which the District Collector directed strict action.

Inspection details

During the inspection, the District Collector found that three coupon systems and records were not maintained at the hydrant point. In view of this serious negligence, he directed strict action against the junior engineer and the concerned contractor.

Instructions on irregularities

Coupon system and record maintenance: In the inspection, lack of three coupon systems and records was found. The District Collector expressed displeasure over this and ordered disciplinary action against the junior engineer and the concerned contractor.

Department name and number plate on tanker: During the inspection, the name and number plate of the department were not found on the tankers parked at the hydrant point. On this, the District Collector immediately instructed the concerned officials to get the name and number plate of the department written on all the tankers.

Tanker seizure: Due to lack of number plate, the District Collector directed the Dechu police station officer to seize such tankers which do not have number plates.

Reaction of the District Collector

District Collector Harji Lal Atal said, "Our aim is that all the processes of the Water Supply Department should be transparent and well-organized. Irregularities will not be tolerated at all and strict action will be taken against the culprits."

Further action

The officials of the Water Supply Department have been directed to immediately implement the coupon system and record maintenance at all hydrant points. Also, ensure compliance with the order to mark the name of the department and number plate on all tankers.
