Cricket World Cup: Date Change for India-Pakistan Match in Ahmedabad Not the Only Update

The India-Pakistan match in the 2023 Cricket World Cup may be rescheduled, but it will not be moved from Ahmedabad. The match is currently scheduled for October 15, which is the first day of Navratri in Gujarat. Navratri is a major Hindu festival, and there are concerns that the match could disrupt the celebrations.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah has said that the board is working with the ICC to find a new date for the match. He has also said that two or three other member boards have requested for changes to the schedule.

Shah said that the venues of the matches will not be changed, as this would create logistical challenges. However, the boards are looking at reducing the number of days between matches for some teams, and increasing the number of days between matches for others. This will give teams more time to travel, rest, and train.

The 2023 Cricket World Cup will be held in India from October 7 to November 23. It will be the first time that India has hosted the tournament since 2011.
