25 lakh saplings will be planted under Mission Van Raksha to make Rajasthan green - Animal Husbandry Minister

Animal Husbandry, Cow Husbandry and Devasthan Minister Joraram Kumawat said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, 25 lakh saplings will be planted across the state by the Animal Husbandry, Cow Husbandry, Dairy and Devasthan Department to realize the concept of Green Rajasthan. Kumawat was taking a meeting of the department officials in his room in the Secretariat building on Friday. He said that under the tree plantation campaign, plantation work is being done on a large scale in the state so that the coming generation can get a healthy and clean environment. He instructed the officials of his departments to not only ensure the arrangement of planting 25 lakh saplings in the next one month but also make special efforts for their conservation and promotion.

Kumawat said that this work will be done under Mission Van Rakshan. He instructed that as many trees should be planted in the gaushalas operating in the state as many cows. The Animal Husbandry Department should run this campaign in the premises of all its offices, the dairy should plant trees in the premises of its milk committees and in the grazing land around it and the Devasthan Department should ensure that at least five saplings are planted in every temple and other religious places. The cooperation of the general public, voluntary organizations and other stakeholders can also be taken for this work. He said that apart from this, all the officers and employees of the department should also plant one sapling each.

Kumawat said that it is the responsibility of all of us to make the concept of Green Rajasthan done by the Chief Minister a reality. But our responsibility is not only to plant saplings, only if we are able to protect the saplings, the real purpose of this work will be fulfilled. For this, it is necessary that after planting the saplings, the responsibility of their protection should also be ensured, only then in the coming time Rajasthan will be able to take the form of a Green Rajasthan. He instructed the officials to start this campaign by making a plan as soon as possible.
